It's a shame on the part of the federation and the broadcaster: Jabeur's outburst over the absence of women's matches in night sessions

After three days of competition, three men's matches have been scheduled for night sessions at Roland-Garros.

The last time a women's match was scheduled for nighttime? It was in 2023, during the round of 16 between Aryna Sabalenka and Sloane Stephens. Since the introduction of evening matches, only four women's matches have been given this honor.

This situation has deeply frustrated Ons Jabeur, who was eliminated in the first round on Tuesday by Magdalena Frech: "It's a shame for women's sports in general, not just tennis. I don’t think those making these decisions have daughters—I don’t think they’d treat them like this.

It’s a bit paradoxical. They don’t showcase women’s sports, women’s tennis, and then they say, 'Yes, but fans mostly watch men.' Of course they watch more men because men are shown more—it’s all connected.

It’s a disgrace for the federation and the broadcaster to have signed such a contract. So many great female players deserve to be there. One of Monday’s matches was Naomi Osaka against Paula Badosa. An incredible match.

They should have played in the night session. Like last year with Osaka against Iga Swiatek. So many great matches should have been scheduled for night sessions."

Wednesday’s night session will feature the clash between Emilio Nava and Holger Rune. Initially, organizers had planned to schedule the match between Ben Shelton and Hugo Gaston, but the French player withdrew.

The women are no closer to the men in attendance, viewership, quality of play, and of course quantity (3 out of 5 vs 2 out of 3) than the WNBA is to the NBA.
They dont even use the same tennis balls!
This is what passes for modern, woke, feminist "equality"...

Yes and despite all this they get equal paycheck. But the injustices and discrimination done to them never stop. If everything is given to them on a platter and men simply shut shop - they will crib about no worthy men around. Whole universe should exist or stop existing to keep them happy and according to their feelings.

The misogynistic comments here are simply disgusting.

That is why a separate planet is needed for feminists (where they can live happily thereafter). Feminists think only their own opinion matters rest all are "simply disgusting".

Typical cribbing post a loss, except that in case of women it is about their gender and discrimination.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
