It's as if I'm a bit frustrated with my game," Djokovic far from satisfied despite his qualification to the third round of the US Open
Qualified for the third round of a Grand Slam for the 75th time in his career, a record in the Open Era, Novak Djokovic can still dream of a 25th Grand Slam this year.
The Serbian, who defeated Zachary Svajda (145th) on Wednesday, still seemed to be finding his rhythm in his second match since Wimbledon. A feeling he confirmed in the press conference, believing he is not at his best on the court:
"It's not a question of motivation, but rather as if I'm a bit frustrated with my game, in addition to going through certain moments where I tell myself things internally that I'd better not reveal in detail.
I try to stay in my bubble, to solve the equation, but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying competing.
I love competition, but I don't like playing in a poor way. That's why I put extra pressure on myself, as well as on my team, to be better the next day in the upcoming match.
Today, it was a bit difficult to find rhythm, maybe that's why you didn't see me as expressive after some winning points. But don't worry about me, for the next match I'll make sure to raise my fist a lot more just for your eyes (laughs).
