It's going to be a real discovery," Boisson's fitness coach details her preparation for Wimbledon qualifiers
Loïs Boisson will make her professional grass-court debut tomorrow in the Wimbledon qualifiers. The French player, ranked 65th in the world, will face Carson Branstine, with a potential second-round clash against Bianca Andreescu.
Ahead of this baptism by fire, her fitness coach Sébastien Durand explained to *L'Équipe* the details of her preparation on a surface where she remains a novice:
"Everything has gone well in terms of her preparation. We kept our usual training routines but had to adapt certain aspects to the specific demands of grass. Overall, in the ten days since she resumed training, everything has gone very smoothly. Her first match on grass will be a real discovery, but she’s ready. [...]
When you have years of experience and have played at Wimbledon before, you know what to expect on grass. But when it’s your first time, there are adjustments to make.
We could see last week that each training session was a real step forward—she managed to adapt well and find her bearings progressively. It’s positive, but nothing replaces an actual match. We’ll see how well she adapts to these conditions.
