Following their altercation this Wednesday, Jelena Ostapenko eventually apologized on her Instagram account.

At the press conference, Taylor Townsend reacted to the Latvian's apology: "She expected a certain reaction from me, but I didn’t give it, and that frustrated her.

That led her to make hurtful, aggressive, offensive remarks, not only toward me but also toward the sport and an entire culture that I try to represent as best I can.

It's good that she apologized.
