"It's hard to say who will win when they both play their best tennis," says Hurkacz about Alcaraz and Sinner

Currently dealing with a knee injury, Hubert Hurkacz has not been spared from injuries for several months. The Pole, who has dropped to 41st in the world rankings, has won two Masters 1000 titles in his career—Miami in 2021 and Shanghai in 2023.
While awaiting his return to the ATP Tour, the former Wimbledon semifinalist discussed the current level of the circuit, particularly that of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, compared to the Big 4.
"I feel like Carlos (Alcaraz) and Jannik (Sinner)’s level of play keeps improving a bit more every year, and of course, we can say their level is higher than it was ten years ago during the Big 4 era.
That doesn’t mean Novak (Djokovic), Rafa (Nadal), Roger (Federer), and Andy (Murray) couldn’t have done the same if they were playing today, because they also set the bar very high.
We can say both are playing at an incredible level, and if we want to keep up with them, it’s also up to us. We have to work very hard to reach their level—that’s what motivates me to get up every morning.
When they face each other, it’s hard to say who will win when they’re both playing their best tennis. Jannik and Carlos have ambitious goals in the big tournaments, but I think that should be ours as well.
It’s no secret, but my goal is always to win Grand Slam titles," Hurkacz told Tennis365. He hasn’t played since June 11 in 's-Hertogenbosch.
