It's Madonna Arriving, the Anecdote About Sharapova in Strasbourg

Denis Naegelen, director of the WTA tournament in Strasbourg, shared an anecdote with L'Équipe, relayed by We Love Tennis, in which he recounts Maria Sharapova's arrival at the Strasbourg tournament in 2010.

He recounts: "She was one of the two most bankable players of the time, along with Serena Williams.

An extremely professional and very demanding woman, insane attractiveness, media power, and a glamour that no current player possesses...

It's Madonna arriving, you know! After her first round, where she had lost a set, she told me: 'Were you worried? Don't worry, I'm going to win your tournament.' And she did.
