I've taken more photos here than in six months in Europe": Sinner's confidences to Beijing's deputy director
The 2025 Asian tour has been intense for Jannik Sinner. Just days after conquering Beijing for the second time, the Italian had to abruptly withdraw from the Shanghai Masters 1000, falling victim to sudden cramps during his match against Tallon Griekspoor.
In Beijing, Sinner didn't just lift a trophy. He was moved by the unique welcome from the Chinese crowd. This is what Lars Graff, the tournament's deputy director, revealed today:
"Players are taking even more photos with fans. Regarding this, Sinner told me he took more photos in one week in Beijing than in six months in Europe. He really takes them with everyone: whether in private, during training, or after matches. The crowd is very enthusiastic.
Moreover, they're very impartial. In other parts of the world, the crowd always cheers for local players while in China, and particularly in Beijing, the crowd is neutral. Even when there's a Chinese player, they also cheer for the opponent, which is very positive.
