I've thought about it several times," Clijsters discusses the possibility of becoming a coach
In an interview with the media outlet Bolshe, Kim Clijsters was asked about a potential future as a coach.
Although interested in this project, the Belgian indicated that it is not planned for the moment: "I've thought about it several times, and there have been interesting offers from players, but the travel... It's too much for me.
Moreover, I think that to be a good coach, you need to spend at least 15 to 20 weeks per year with a player. I don't want to be a coach who just spends time on the phone.
I believe that personal contact, communication, and understanding the player are essential.
Of course, technology has simplified this process, but I remain convinced that a coach must be present and observe a player's life, not only on the court but also off it.
Of course, the idea of coaching is very tempting, especially if working with a player with whom I have connections. But my youngest isn't even nine years old, so for now, I prefer to stay at home.
