Jabeur Provides Reassuring Update After Miami Withdrawal
Ons Jabeur faced an unfortunate setback during the WTA 1000 in Miami. The Tunisian, ranked 30th in the world, was forced to retire midway through the first set against Jasmine Paolini in the third round of the Florida tournament. Appearing to have suffered a calf injury, Jabeur threw in the towel while trailing 4-3 in the opening set.
A few days after her injury, the three-time Grand Slam finalist posted a message on her official X account (formerly Twitter) to clarify the nature of her physical issue. The Tunisian shared reassuring news and expressed her hope to return to action very soon.
"Hello everyone, I wanted to give you an update on my condition. The doctors have identified a minor muscle strain, which is good news. This means I’ll be able to return to the court as soon as I’m certain my leg has fully recovered.
I’m truly grateful for all your messages and support—they mean so much to me," wrote the 30-year-old Ons Jabeur on social media in recent hours.
