"Jannik is undoubtedly the best player in the world on hard courts," Alcaraz's statement before his final against Sinner in Cincinnati
After Wimbledon, Sinner and Alcaraz will meet for the fourth time this season in a major tournament final. Just hours before the match, the Spaniard opened up in an interview shared by journalist Giovanni Pelazzo.
"Jannik won the last one, and I won the first two, so it’s going to be very interesting. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first final we’re playing on hard courts, so I’m looking forward to taking on this challenge.
I know Jannik is undoubtedly the best player in the world on hard courts and probably on all surfaces right now. I’ll try to do better—I’m happy to be in another final: it’s my seventh in a row and the fourth against Jannik. It’s going to be a great day."
The two will face off on the center court of Cincinnati (P&G Center Court) this Monday, starting at 9 p.m. French time.
