Jeanjean in second round at Colina, Mladenovic on track this Wednesday
Despite Chloé Paquet's withdrawal from the WTA 125 tournament in Colina, the French players are out in force in Chile.
In her first match, Léolia Jeanjean easily overcame Chilean wild card Fernanda Labrana in two sets (6-0, 6-2).
It took the 171st-ranked player just an hour to reach the second round. She will face Maria Carle (94th on the WTA rankings and seeded number 2) for a place in the quarter-finals.
Mladenovic on court later today at Colina
Kristina Mladenovic, who is also taking part in the South American tournament, will play her second match this Wednesday at 4pm French time.
The Frenchwoman faces Darja Semenistaja, seeded 6th. Should she win, it will be her second quarter-final on clay in 2024, after Oeiras in April.
