Chloé Paquet withdraws from the Colina tournament, but Mladenovic and Jeanjean are still present
Just a few days after losing the decisive doubles match with Clara Burel in the Billie Jean King Cup play-off against Colombia, Chloé Paquet won't be playing again.
The 30-year-old Frenchwoman, ranked 110th on the WTA rankings this week, was due to take part in the WTA 125 in Colina, Chile.
Paquet was due to face Brazil's Carolina Alves (ranked 312th in the world), but withdrew at the last minute. She was replaced by 25-year-old Romanian Georgia Craciun.
Successful debut for Mladenovic, Jeanjean on track this Tuesday
In the same tournament, Kristina Mladenovic got off to a flying start. Against local wild card Jimar Gerald Gonzalez, the Frenchwoman won without a moment's hesitation (6-0, 6-3).
She will meet Francesca Jones or Darja Semenistaj in the next round.
The third Frenchwoman in the draw, Léolia Jeanjean, will play Fernanda Labrana, another Chilean, later on Tuesday.
