Just like Nadal and Alcaraz, Mensik becomes one of the youngest players to win a Masters 1000
Mensik achieved the feat of defeating Djokovic in the Miami final this Sunday (7-6, 7-6). The Czech player denied the Serbian his 100th ATP title and claimed the first trophy of his career.
At just 19 years old, the world No. 54 joins the list of the youngest players to win a Masters 1000.
The first was Chang at 18 years and 158 days (Toronto, 1990), followed by Nadal at 18 years and 318 days (Monte-Carlo, 2005), and Alcaraz at 18 years and 334 days (Miami, 2022).
At 19 years and 210 days old, the Czech ranks behind Rune, who was 19 years and 191 days old (Paris, 2022).
