Karolina Pliskova sets the record straight with her rivals: "Players spend their time complaining"

Always candid, Pliskova used her return to send a clear message: according to her, current players have no reason to complain, neither about the schedule nor about their conditions.
Here comes Karolina Pliskova again. A little over a year after her withdrawal in the second round of the US Open, the 33-year-old Czech resumed competition at the WTA 125 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
Eliminated this Wednesday by Polina Iatcenko (5-7, 6-4, 6-4), the former world No.1 still showed some great sequences during this comeback awaited by her fans.
She also took the opportunity to give an interview to the media outlet Flashscore, in which she targets players who complain about the schedule:
"I think it's the same or even better than before. I know that before, there was a lot of traveling. There was the Fed Cup three times a year, which doesn't take as much time today. Recently, a former player told me that after the US Open, he would show up for Davis Cup with matches played in best-of-five sets.
And the girls? I get the impression they spend their time complaining, and I don't know why. They are also better paid than they have ever been.
Yes, they have instituted two-week tournaments, but I think it's just a way to pass the time. Everyone trains anyway. It's not like you typically take a week off. So I don't really agree with all that."
