"Katie and I would like to request a wild card," De Minaur and Boulter ask for their mixed doubles invitation to the US Open
Yesterday, the US Open confirmed 14 of the 16 teams that will participate in the new mixed doubles competition (August 19-20).
With two wild cards still to be awarded, Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter remain hopeful of taking part in the event. The Australian, ranked 8th in the world, made his request to the organizers on his X (formerly Twitter) account:
"Katie and I would like to request a wild card, please."
The engaged couple will have to wait a few more days to find out if they will receive one of the coveted spots. As a reminder, the winning pair will receive a prize of one million dollars.
