Keys saves two match points against Muchova to advance to Montreal quarters

Madison Keys secured her spot in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Montreal after a hard-fought victory over Karolina Muchova (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).
In this clash of styles, between Keys' very flat game and Muchova's tactical finesse, it was the American who held the upper hand, despite a high-tension end to the match. The Australian Open winner came close to elimination, saving two match points at 4-5 on her serve in the third set.
After managing to tie the score at 5-5 despite numerous deuces, Keys was very aggressive on the return and achieved the break with a superb backhand down the line. She then calmly closed out the match on her service game.
For the first time since 2016, Keys will be present in the Canadian Open quarterfinals. Her future opponent will be either Iga Swiatek or Clara Tauson.
