Khachanov on his exchange with Davidovich Fokina in Barcelona: "We said some things, but we shook hands like men in the end"
Karen Khachanov reached the 25th semifinal of his ATP Tour career this Friday by defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-4, 7-5) in Barcelona. However, the match ended with a lengthy discussion between the two during the handshake.
Despite the tension in the air, Khachanov and Davidovich Fokina ultimately settled their disagreement, as the Russian explained in his press conference:
"At times, in the heat of the moment, you can get frustrated. You can become a bit more sensitive and nervous. A few games before the end, we got caught up in the heat of the battle.
But in the end, I’m here to compete fairly, and we sorted it all out. I have no issue with him. We said some things earlier, but we shook hands like men in the end."
