Kuznetsova doesn't rule out a comeback: "I wish my injuries would disappear"
Svetlana Kuznetsova played her last professional tennis match at Wimbledon in 2021. At nearly 40 years old, the Russian player hasn’t ruled out a return, however.
She stated: "I wish my injuries would disappear. Honestly, I came to my senses this summer—I underwent several surgeries.
I took some time to relax, started running, rollerblading, got back in shape, and then suffered a muscle tear in my back.
I decided to put my career on hold because of that, then spent a long time recovering.
My back injury came from warming up at the Madrid tournament, where I felt a crack under my buttock."
