Svetlana Kuznetsova had a word for her compatriots Andrey Rublev and Mirra Andreeva, who won the Doha and Dubai tournaments respectively.
She said: "Andrey Rublev and Mirra Andreeva had an excellent week. At 17, Mirra became the youngest athlete ever to win a WTA 1000.
It was her first title in this category, and I'm delighted. Congratulations to her. Mirra is growing up before our very eyes in tennis terms.
She's starting to beat the best tennis players on a regular basis.
As for Rublev, he's coming out of a bit of a tennis slump and is starting to play at a high level.
Andrey himself has admitted that he has psychological problems. It's great to see him pulling through with such dignity."
