Kvitova, Monfils, Azarenka: Wednesday's Schedule in Madrid

This Wednesday, April 23, marks the continuation of the first round in Madrid. The second day of the women's draw and the first day of the men's draw are on the program. On the center court, Petra Kvitova, a three-time champion of the tournament (in 2011, 2015, and 2018), will kick things off against Katie Volynets.
Following that, Nuno Borges will face Pablo Carreño Busta, while Roberto Bautista Agut will take on Jaume Munar in an all-Spanish clash. Starting at 5 PM, we have an intriguing matchup between Victoria Azarenka and Olga Danilovic.
The Serbian arrives in Madrid full of confidence, having just reached the final of the WTA 250 tournament in Rouen, where she lost to Elina Svitolina. The 24-year-old has also achieved her career-high ranking, currently sitting at No. 34. Finally, Gaël Monfils will face an opponent yet to be determined.
On the Arantxa Sanchez Court, the day will begin with a match between Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and clay-court specialist Mariano Navone. Next, Belinda Bencic will take on Zeynep Sonmez, followed by a showdown between Emma Raducanu and Suzan Lamens for a spot in the second round.
The last two matches of the day on this court will feature Pedro Martinez against Francisco Comesaña, followed by McCartney Kessler versus Bianca Andreescu.
On the other courts, throughout the day, we’ll see Diane Parry, who made it through qualifying on Tuesday, Benjamin Bonzi (against Cilic), Corentin Moutet, and Arthur Rinderknech representing France.
Maria Sakkari will also be in action, while a clash between the Kudermetova sisters, Polina and Veronika, is scheduled on Court 7. Find the full schedule for this Wednesday in Madrid below.
