Laver Cup: Noah reflects on his baptism by fire as captain

For his first time as captain of Team Europe, Yannick Noah experienced a Laver Cup full of emotions and lessons, despite the defeat against a stronger Team World.
Missed debut for Yannick Noah at the helm of Team Europe in the Laver Cup. The 1983 French Open winner saw his team collapse over the weekend despite an ideal start on Friday with three victories out of four matches.
In a press conference, the Frenchman shared his feelings about these three days of competition:
"It was an amazing week, a wonderful experience on a personal level. I had the chance to meet some great people. Of course, we wanted to be the winners, but we lost to a better team. They played very well.
Overall, we tried to honor the Laver Cup as best as we could. There was a very high level of tennis. I can't wait for next year and I have a year ahead of me to become a better captain. [...]
I learned a lot. Watching matches on television is one thing, but being close to these guys and seeing how they prepare is another. They are extremely professional.
Before the matches, I was able to meet most of them with their teams. It wasn't like this in my time. Even though I coached in the Davis Cup a few years ago, we are talking here about the best players (in the world). It was great to be around them and see how they live and work."
