Lopez defends the Davis Cup: "The absence of Sinner and Alcaraz is not specific to this competition"

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the notable absentees from this Davis Cup final. Feliciano Lopez, the competition director, defended it.

Italy and Spain faced off in the Davis Cup final this Sunday. This matchup could have offered a new match between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Unfortunately, the two players did not play in this competition.

Feliciano Lopez, Davis Cup director, wanted to defend his tournament: "I think the fact that the best players do not participate in all the major global tennis tournaments affects all of us, across all tournaments. The schedule is overloaded.

There are too many tournaments. It is very difficult for them to participate in all of them. This is not specific to this competition, to the Davis Cup. It is a phenomenon that occurs all year long in most major global tennis tournaments."

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.

This week I have used all my formulas and best guesses to try to achieve the high score jimandlori958 set in our last competition. I am two games short because of cancelations and I need all wins to get there.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Grenier and Hsu at the Kobe tournament? The match was played to completion and on time.

Grenier def Ysu 6-2 , 6-2 at Kobe today and the TT canceled the match.
