Machac after his title in Acapulco: "It was a real battle"

This week, Tomas Machac experienced some beautiful emotions in Acapulco. In the Mexican city, the 24-year-old Czech won the very first ATP title of his career by triumphing in this ATP 500 tournament.
In the final, Machac prevailed in two sets against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (7-6, 6-2), who was playing his third final.
On the court after his victory, Machac shared his initial impressions following this triumph that he will remember for a long time in Acapulco:
"I feel several emotions, but at the moment, I can only be relieved because it hasn't been an easy week.
Especially when I play like this, it would have been really tough to lose in the final. I'm very happy with how I managed to win today because Alejandro was playing really well, it was a real battle.
I served very well today, and fortunately so. I think without my serve, I certainly wouldn't have won in two sets.
I told my coach (Daniel Vacek) two weeks ago that I sometimes struggle to handle the pressure in big matches and that I didn't know how to get through those situations.
I should try to talk to him a bit more often," assured Machac, who will make his appearance at the 20th spot in the ATP rankings this Monday.
