Mannarino and Opelka Get Last-Minute Wildcards in ’s-Hertogenbosch
The ATP 250 event in ’s-Hertogenbosch saw a wave of withdrawals throughout the week leading up to the tournament, including defending champion Alex De Minaur pulling out.
Main draw matches have already begun, but several players ultimately decided not to participate in the Dutch tournament, starting with local favorite Botic Van de Zandschulp, whose first-round match against Mattia Bellucci was scheduled on center court today.
Alejandro Tabilo, who lost in the second round at Roland-Garros, also withdrew. As a result, two spots opened up in the main draw, forcing organizers to award wildcards to Adrian Mannarino, the 2019 champion, and Reilly Opelka.
They will face Christopher O’Connell and Jesper De Jong, respectively.
