Mannarino on the Sinner and Swiatek cases: "I don't believe in Santa Claus anymore".
Since the revelation of Iga Swiatek's and Jannik Sinner's positive doping tests, the question of justice and possible differences in treatment between male and female players has been omnipresent.
Interviewed on RMC's Stephen Brunch program, Adrian Mannarino returned to the subject and made no secret of his feelings: "I don't believe in Santa Claus any more. If anyone wants to believe, they can. It's not really my thing. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's still very surprising.
There have been two positive tests out of the world's top 300, and they're both number one. You can inadvertently take the wrong pill or the wrong vitamin, but it's astonishing.
I see myself every morning getting up at 36 with a limp. Having to play against 20-25 year olds, if they're not clean, becomes complicated. I hope that's the case for them.
