"Maybe in the future you'll have a new player on the team," Federer and Nadal share a moment before the 2025 Ryder Cup

Partners on the tennis court, the two legends are also companions on the golf course. While visiting Majorca, Roger Federer took the opportunity to spend some time on the green with his former rival, Rafael Nadal.
But that's not all, as ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup, scheduled for September 26-28 in New York, they wanted to send an encouraging message to Team Europe.
Federer: "Hello everyone from the golf course here in Majorca. I wish you good luck for the Ryder Cup. Team Europe, we are behind you, and maybe in the future we'll have a new player on the team (laughs)."
Nadal: "With that swing, we'll need a few more years (laughs). I'm a big golf fan, so I'm really going to enjoy watching you play. It's going to be incredible. This is the chance to show your best golf, and I'm sure you'll give it your all because we have to win."
Federer: "I'm learning, I'm a novice at golf, as you know, but I appreciate the atmosphere, being all together, and I hope Team Europe will win."
As a reminder, it's no coincidence that Federer takes the Ryder Cup to heart. The Swiss has always admired this format, so much so that it served as the main inspiration for creating the Laver Cup in 2017.
