Medvedev reflects on his 2023 Rome title: "I played on clay more calmly after that"

Daniil Medvedev is in Rome, where he will make his debut this Friday against Cameron Norrie. The 2023 champion explains how this title changed his relationship with clay.
"It's the tournament after which I started playing on clay much more calmly. If I remember correctly, after Rome, I no longer had moments where I would literally lose my temper on this surface.
Winning tournaments gives me roughly the same feeling: it’s always a special emotion. But after Rome, something changed: I couldn’t believe I had achieved such a result on clay.
The strangest thing, of course, is that after this title, I never won another one. I hope life is cyclical and that I can win again."
