Medvedev, Wawrinka, Monfils, and Shelton to Kick Off the Week: Monday’s Schedule in Monte-Carlo

The Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 began this Sunday with three first-round matches played. However, the schedule will undoubtedly intensify tomorrow.

To start the day on the Rainier III court, Stan Wawrinka, the 2014 tournament champion and wild-card recipient, will face Alejandro Tabilo. This match will be followed by a clash between Yunchaokete Bu and Lorenzo Musetti, before a rematch of last year’s round of 16 between Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov.

Fabio Fognini, the 2018 winner of this Masters 1000, will take on Francisco Cerundolo in the final match on the center court.

On the Princes’ court, the schedule will be just as packed, with tightly contested matchups. Jiri Lehecka and Sebastian Korda will battle it out starting at 11 a.m., followed by Gaël Monfils opening his tournament against Fabian Marozsan, whom he defeated in Miami less than a month ago.

The last two matches will be equally enticing: Mariano Navone will challenge Matteo Berrettini, followed by Ben Shelton’s debut against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the 2022 finalist.

Finally, the following matches will take place on the EA Massy court: Giron vs. Shapovalov, Auger-Aliassime vs. Altmaier, and Müller vs. Ugo Carabelli.
