Men's Doubles Final, Anisimova-Swiatek: Saturday, July 12 Schedule at Wimbledon
This Saturday, Centre Court will be the stage for two finals at Wimbledon. At 2 PM French time, the first match will feature the conclusion of the men's doubles. The pair Rinky Hijikata/David Pel, who defeated the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals (6-7, 7-6, 7-6 against Marcelo Arevalo-Gonzalez and Mate Pavic), will face the duo of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, the No. 5 seeds. The two Brits can count on the support of their home crowd.
Following that, no earlier than 4 PM, the women's singles final will take place between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek. Both women will compete in their first Wimbledon final, and the winner will, no matter what, etch her name into the tournament's history.
The American triumphed over Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals (6-4, 4-6, 6-4), while the Pole showed no nerves against Belinda Bencic (6-2, 6-0). Adding extra spice to the occasion, this will be the very first meeting between the two players on the WTA tour.
