At the US Open, Jannik Sinner, though reaching the final, struggled with his service game. This was evident in his first serve percentage during the final against Carlos Alcaraz, which fell below 50%. Throughout the tournament, the Italian only managed 59% on his first serves.
This is alarming for someone who has dropped to the world No. 2 in the ATP rankings. Training in Monte-Carlo this week, Sinner is taking time to rework his serve by practicing shadow movements (see video below).
The four-time Grand Slam winner will need a strong serve during the Asian tour, where he is defending a final in Beijing and a title in Shanghai.
