Monfils (ill against Humbert): "The eggs destroyed my stomach".
Gaël Monfils currently facing Ugo Humbert in the 1st round of the ATP 500 in Dubai. And the Frenchman isn't at his best against his fellow countryman. He apparently didn't digest the food he ate before the match. This led to a rather unusual exchange with a member of his team at the very start of the second set. A sequence captured by the Eurosport cameras.
Monfils: "I think the eggs destroyed my stomach".
Team member: "Really?"
Monfils: "I don't know, I don't feel very well".
Team member: "You should have eaten a pepperoni pizza".
Monfils: "Yes, I should have. But I can't even imagine eating something again right now (laughs)".
