Mouratoglou on Alcaraz's inconsistency: "He is not as consistent as Novak or Rafa at their peak, or Sinner now, but he is more fiery."
Carlos Alcaraz won his first indoor tournament in Rotterdam during the month of February, before losing in the quarterfinals in Doha, betrayed by his lack of concentration at the end of the match against Jiri Lehecka.
On his social media, Patrick Mouratoglou offered a brief analysis of the current game of the world No. 3:
"The new generation is brilliant. It was a different style of tennis, with two players (Nadal and Djokovic) who were very consistent and built points a lot. If you look at Alcaraz, for example, he is more of a puncher.
But it's interesting because he can do so many different things. He hits drop shots, comes to the net, has incredible power, great touch... And he does all of that in a match, it's crazy.
It's very exciting, you never get bored. There's always something happening. Obviously, he is not as consistent as Novak or a Rafa at their peak, or Sinner now, but he is more fiery."
