Moutet fined $15,000 for his behavior at the Australian Open
Corentin Moutet has been fined $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct during his second-round win over Mitchell Krueger.
This was due to his behavior in the second set. Trailing by a set, the Frenchman lost a point when the referee announced that the ball had bounced twice.
At the changeover, he launched into a monologue: "How can you give a euro to a guy like that?
How can you waste euros like that? Or Australian dollars, whatever.
How can you do that? Seriously! Every night here, the referees get drunk.
And the next day, they're ruining games. How is this possible? I'm here, I fight, I work every day.
I fight to be here. And they ruin the game like that. And I'm supposed to stay calm?"
