Moutet joins Musetti in the last 16 of the Buenos Aires tournament
Corentin Moutet's entry into the Buenos Aires tournament was delayed by rain. Although he was due to face Sumit Nagal on Tuesday, the Frenchman finally appeared on court the following day against the Indian lucky loser.
Not that the 66th-ranked player in the world really needed to be disturbed, as he played a solid match.
Despite a first set marked by several breaks, including one when Moutet was serving to win the set 5 games to 4, the Frenchman had stronger nerves and finally closed out the set after another successful return game at 5-5.
The second set, on the other hand, was much more to the 25-year-old's advantage, as he quickly broke back to lead 4-1.
In the end, Moutet prevailed (7-5, 6-2) and extended his lead to 5-2 over Nagal in head-to-head matches.
In the next round, Corentin Moutet will face Lorenzo Musetti, seeded number 3, who will make his tournament debut on this occasion.
The winner of this match will qualify for the quarter-finals of this 2025 edition of the Buenos Aires ATP tournament.
