Mpetshi Perricard Defeated by Dzumhur in the Second Round of Roland-Garros
This Wednesday, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Damir Dzumhur faced off for a spot in the third round of Roland-Garros.
While the Bosnian player was leading 2 sets to 1, he experienced knee pain that required a medical timeout. Despite this, he managed to break his opponent and secure the victory with a score of 7-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
In a post-match interview, he said: "I was stressed in the third set after losing my serve. In the fourth set, I didn’t even realize I was serving for the match. Maybe it was better that way."
Dzumhur advances to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in 7 years (Roland-Garros 2018) and will face Carlos Alcaraz in the next round.
