Mpetshi Perricard: "I hope we'll meet again in the semi-finals with Arthur (Fils)".
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard takes on Lorenzo Musetti this Monday in the last 16 of Wimbledon. Given his meteoric rise to prominence, the young Frenchman (20) doesn't seem to have any limits yet. And he doesn't set any himself.
Mpetshi Perricard is good friends with Arthur Fils, who is also in the last 16 and who will face Alex De Minaur today, and dreams of meeting up with his pal in the semi-finals of the tournament. The two young men came up through the ranks of the French Tennis Federation together and have known each other for many years.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (to L'Equipe): "I'm really happy, we're both in the last 16. When we were in Poitiers (at the Pôle France, the FFT's training center for players aged 15 and under), we talked about reaching the quarters, semis and Grand Slam finals.
I'm really happy for him. I hope we'll meet again in the semi-finals."
