Muller topples Huesler and reaches second round in Hong Kong
Alexandre Muller made a successful debut in Hong Kong. The Frenchman, up against Swiss qualifier Marc-Andrea Huesler, took a set to really get into his stride.
In the end, Muller made it through to the second round, turning the match around (2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in 2h04).
The 27-year-old, ranked 67th in the world this week, now has his first success on the main circuit since October 15 at the Stockholm tournament.
Against Huesler, Muller hit 31 winners (including 8 aces) to join Miomir Kecmanovic in the last 16.
The only Frenchman on the Hong Kong courts today, Muller will be looking to reach the quarter-finals of an ATP tournament for the first time in a year, that being in Auckland.
The second French player in the draw, Arthur Fils, will face Zizou Bergs in his first match.
