Andy Murray came within one point of defeat (5 consecutive match points saved) and therefore retirement, alongside Daniel Evans against the Japanese pair Kei Nishikori/Taro Daniel, in the 1st round of the men's doubles at the Paris Olympic Games.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that the former world No. 1's head was full of ideas at the time of potentially putting an end to a 19-year career. But not really, as he explained after the match. He was much more focused on the tactics needed to win the next point.
Andy Murray: "I didn't have much in mind at the time. I didn't think, 'Oh my God, my career is about to end. What should I do? It was more like, 'Where am I going to serve and how am I going to do it?"
