Musetti gains confidence: "What makes me really happy".

Musetti gains confidence: What makes me really happy.

Lorenzo Musetti has perhaps never played so well.

After an exceptional season on grass, the Italian honored the hopes placed in him by the Italian public. In the absence of Jannik Sinner, he didn't waver at the Olympic Games, bringing home a fine bronze medal for his nation.

After a short stopover with his family, the 22-year-old prodigy is off to Cincinnati this week, where he made it through the first round thanks to a bluffing solidity in the important moments (4-6, 7-6, 7-6 victory over Nicolas Jarry).

Questioned in the press conference, he explained that his mentality had clearly evolved, as he feels much stronger than before. Very frankly, he explained this by the fact that his tennis had become much more solid, while retaining the creative side that is so characteristic of his game: "I know what level I can play at.

I'm accepting more and more things on the court, whether it's my personality or my limits. I try to go beyond them.

A few months ago, I didn't have this consistency and attitude of being a little more patient on the court and accepting more things.

It's all the work I've done in training with my team that's paying off right now, which makes me really happy."
