Musetti joins Djokovic in the Wimbledon semi-finals!

Musetti joins Djokovic in the Wimbledon semi-finals!

When Jannik Sinner is away, Lorenzo Musetti takes over for Italy. The world No. 25 beat the odds to reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon on Wednesday afternoon. He beat Taylor Fritz, world n°12, after a battle lasting almost three and a half hours on Court n°1 (3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1).

Just as the American seemed to have regained the ascendancy in the 4th set, the Italian perfectly reversed the trend to dominate the 5th set, allowing himself to conclude the match without fear.

On Friday, Musetti will play in his very first Grand Slam semi-final. He will face Novak Djokovic, who qualified without playing since Alex De Minaur had to withdraw with a hip injury.
