Musetti reflects on his performance against Draper: "Jack is one of the best players in the world right now"

Lorenzo Musetti failed to secure a second consecutive Masters 1000 final, losing to Jack Draper in the Madrid semifinals on Friday.
Though the result didn’t go his way, the Italian—who will rise to world No. 8 on Monday—was impressed by the intensity of the match:
"I think the level was very high, especially in the second set. There were a lot of winners, and it was a really solid performance from both sides. He managed to dictate the match his way, but I’m happy I felt like I was getting closer as the match went on. [...]
I think I’m probably playing the same tennis as before, but with more confidence. My mentality on court is different now, that’s for sure. A few years ago, this match could have ended 6-3, 6-2, because I wouldn’t have tried like I did today—to raise my level until the very last point.
I’m happy to have shared the court with Jack and to have felt like I wasn’t that far off. He’s definitely one of the very best players in the world right now."
