Musetti Stuns Again to Reach His First Masters 1000 Final in Monte-Carlo

Lorenzo Musetti will play in tomorrow's Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 final after defeating Alex De Minaur in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 7-6) in 2 hours and 38 minutes this Saturday.
Just like yesterday in his quarterfinal against Stefanos Tsitsipas, the world No. 16 was completely outplayed in the first set. The match then evened out, and at 4-4 in the second set, Musetti managed to raise his level to even the score.
In the third set, he seemed to be cruising toward victory when serving for the match at 5-4. But he began to falter, and the two players were ultimately decided in a tiebreak. After a tense battle and despite 43 unforced errors throughout the match, the Italian secured his fourth three-set victory of the week.
Tomorrow’s final will be a much tougher challenge against world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard leads their head-to-head 3-1, but Musetti won their first clay-court meeting in the 2022 Hamburg final.
A performance he would do well to repeat if he hopes to claim the first Masters 1000 title of his career tomorrow.
