Withdrawal in Munich, Berrettini's return is announced
Defeated by his compatriot Musetti in the round of 16 at Monte-Carlo (6-3, 6-3), Berrettini was set to continue the following week at the ATP 500 in Munich.
However, the 29-year-old player has announced his withdrawal from the German tournament. The Italian cites "a preventive decision, in agreement with his team, before continuing the clay-court season," reports *Tennis World Italia*.
The sports media also announced the return date of the world No. 33, which will take place at the Madrid Masters 1000 (April 23 to May 4).
Having dealt with injuries in recent years, he "has chosen to compete without overexerting himself and when his physical condition is close to 100%," concludes the Italian outlet.
