Musetti withdraws from the ATP 250 tournament in Los Cabos

World No. 7 Lorenzo Musetti has been having a strong season, but his momentum has been slowed in recent weeks due to a leg injury. Forced to retire in the Roland-Garros semifinals against Carlos Alcaraz, the Italian then entered Wimbledon without any grass-court preparation tournaments.
As a result, the player who reached the semifinals in London last year was defeated in four sets in his opening match by Nikoloz Basilashvili. Now, attention turns to the North American hardcourt swing, including the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters 1000 events leading up to the US Open.
However, Musetti has decided to delay his return to competition. Initially set to be the top seed at the ATP 250 tournament in Los Cabos, the 23-year-old withdrew just hours before the draw in Mexico.
This withdrawal benefits Mitchell Krueger, who now enters the main draw. With Musetti out, Andrey Rublev becomes the highest-ranked player in the tournament. On the French side, only Quentin Halys and Adrian Mannarino (the latter having benefited from Cameron Norrie's withdrawal to avoid qualifying) will participate.
It’s worth noting that earlier in the day, Jordan Thompson, who was forced to retire against Taylor Fritz in the Wimbledon round of 16 a few days ago, also withdrew.
