Nadal and Alcaraz challenged but through to the Olympic doubles quarter-finals!
Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz qualified for the quarter-finals of the Olympic men's doubles draw on Tuesday. Facing the Dutch pair of Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof, they won 6-4, 6-7[2], 10-2.
Dominant in the first set, then seriously shaken in the second, the Spaniards finally dominated the match-tie-break (10-point tie-break replacing the third set in doubles).
Nadal and Alcaraz will face the Americans Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram, seeded 4, in their bid to reach the semi-finals of the event.
