No French Players in the Round of 16 in Paris: A Rarity in the Tournament's History
With the defeats of Rinderknech, Cazaux, Muller, and Moutet, French tennis will not be represented in the Round of 16 of the Paris Masters 1000.
French tennis has shone in the Masters 1000 this year, but no French representative will compete in the Round of 16 in Paris during the first edition of the tournament held at La Défense Arena.
The last four French players in contention, Arthur Rinderknech, Arthur Cazaux, Alexandre Muller, and Corentin Moutet, were all eliminated this Wednesday in the Round of 32.
Thus, the French players will not be on the courts this Thursday and until the end of the tournament. A very rare occurrence, as since the first edition of the Parisian tournament at Bercy in 1986, this is only the third time that no French player has managed to reach the Round of 16 stage, after 2018 and 2023. Seven years ago, there were ten at the starting line, while there were eight two years ago and seven this year.
