No one sees the nights he cried, Vagnozzi opens up about Sinner after his US Open loss

Jannik Sinner, the men's tennis leader until the US Open, had to relinquish his throne to his rival Carlos Alcaraz after his defeat in the final in New York.

A second Grand Slam final loss to the Spaniard will lead the Italian to some soul-searching, having mentioned in his press conference his intentions to evolve his game and become more "unpredictable."

Supported by Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, Sinner can rely on a strong team to bounce back and reinvent himself tactically. Vagnozzi, in particular, opened up to RaiNews about the pressure his protégé has been under lately:

"Jannik isn't just playing against the opponent on the other side of the net. He's playing against the expectations of an entire country. Everyone sees the defeat, but no one sees the nights he cried, the days he couldn't even lift his arm because of fatigue.

Nobody is perfect in this world.

Unfortunately some people enjoy badmouthing, belittling others, and spreading negativity - I have all the sympathy for such people as they seem to be expressing the frustration of their failures in life, and are jealous of others'success.

Hope we see more positivity in this world.
