Norrie Reveals the Key to Beating Alcaraz: "Everyone Likes Being the Underdog Against Him"
Cameron Norrie has defeated Carlos Alcaraz three times in his career. The British left-hander notably dominated the world number 1 during the second round of the Paris Masters 1000 at the end of the season (4-6, 6-3, 6-4). In an interview with the Nothing Major Podcast, the world number 27 was asked about the magic formula for overcoming the Spaniard.
"I think everyone likes being the underdog against him. You have to stay disciplined, hang in there, and test him relentlessly. In the match in Paris, I had a few break points, but so did he. I'm not entirely sure why I've managed to beat him three times.
"I felt capable of causing him problems"
I simply told myself that I was in the match. In the first five games, the intensity was so high... I felt capable of causing him problems," Norrie stated, who also made his choice between Alcaraz and Sinner.
"I always support Alcaraz, to be honest. I've always thought there was more variety in his game, and I love watching him play. He's my favorite player to watch on court," he concluded.
