Not the Best Moment of My Career": Monfils Opens Up After Withdrawing from Chengdu

After a sensational start to the season, Gaël Monfils has hit a roadblock for several months: injured in the first round in Chengdu, the Parisian takes stock of his rough patch.
Forced to withdraw at the start of his Asian tour, Gaël Monfils is experiencing a setback in his 2025 season.
Although he started impressively with a title in Auckland, a round of 16 at the Australian Open, and another in Miami, the Parisian has been struggling since April.
He has only won four matches and is currently on a five-match losing streak. Despite this setback, he reassured his fans on the social media platform X:
“Well… it’s clearly not the best moment of my career right now, let's be honest (a lot is happening, many questions... but anyway). Not the best vibes, not having success, and today my ankle gave out, bad luck.
But, honestly, I’m doing great as a person, and that's what matters most. I'm still very fortunate to be able to play this high-level sport that I love so much. Even though my ankle stopped me today, I’m super grateful to all the people working with me to keep me on top.
Thank you to everyone sending positive messages. I see them, I feel them, and it makes me so happy. Thank you so much for your support, really.
