Novak should never be considered an underdog," says Zverev ahead of his quarterfinal against Djokovic at Roland Garros
On Wednesday, Alexander Zverev will face Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros.
Ahead of this highly anticipated clash, the German—who advanced to the round of 16 after Tallon Griekspoor retired—spoke about his upcoming opponent in a press conference:
"The guy has won 24 Grand Slams—it’s impossible to consider him an underdog. He knows what it takes to play big matches on big stages. There’s no doubt about that. Novak should never be considered an underdog.
For me, Carlos is the favorite in this tournament. I’ve said that before. And then, the next three are Jannik, me, and Novak. I stand by my position. I think from now on, I have the toughest draw. So I’m ready for the battles ahead, and I’m looking forward to playing against the best in the world.
